Welcome to the Cutters Creek Red and Green Blog Hop! Our wonderful design team members have all created some fun Christmas projects to inspire you! The only requirement for the projects were that they must contain Red and Green. You just saw a fabulous project on Kim B's blog. Your next stop along the hop will be Lori B's blog. If you are just finding our hop please head over to the Cutter's Creek Design Team Blog to start from the beginning. There are 8 inspiring projects for you to check out as well as 8 chances to win a great prize from Cutters Creek! Please leave me a comment about your most memorable gift - either sent or recieved. One entry per person please! Comments left up until 11:59pm on Sunday December 12th will be eligible to win. All winners will be selected Monday and posted on each blog so make sure you check back to see if you have won! You will have 48 hours to respond before we choose another winner. My prize will be a wonderful set of American Crafts Glitter Markers.
Here is the project that I have created for today's hop.
This was my second card with no image - just a sentiment. However, I decided to jazz this one up just a n otch and added LOTS and LOTS of BLING. The base of my card was cut on Bazzill Bling paper in Evergreen. This paper has a very slight sheen to it to make it sparkle. I used a piece of Core'dinations Gemstone 12"X12" Cardstock Assortment in a cranberry color - also sparkly, and cut it one inch smaller than the front of my card. This piece was embossed with the D'Vine Swirls folder in my Cuttlebug.
This sentiment had a pretty flower on it. Rather than try to hide it, I decided to dress the flower up with some Polar White Flower Soft. Using the Flower Soft Glue, the product stuck nicely even to the glitter paper! If you're new to Flower Soft, like me, here's a tip - always rinse out the applicator tip of the flower soft glue after using it. It took me a while to clean out the dried glue from the applicator before I could use it again!
Finally, I had all the layers ready to put my card together. I used ribbon from my stash to wrap the embossed cardstock, tying it with a simple knot. I attached this piece to the base with my Glue Glider Pro. For the sentiment, I attached the glitter paper to the base using my Sakura Quickie Glue Pen, which works great with small areas! Since the knot from my ribbon was in the middle, I used Glue Dots Pop-Up Dots to raise the sentiment up over the top of the knot, and jump off the card.
I hope you enjoyed my project...and the rest of the hop!!
Vicki, this will for sure bring joy. I think I have everything I need to make this darling card. Thanks for the inspiration.

ReplyDeleteDecember 2004 I received a build a bear dressed in Marine Dress Blues... my son and his wife got him for me but it didn't stop there they went and took him to a friend who owns a military surplus store and got the actual Eagle globe and anchors pins and put them on the uniform. They named him Scout which my oldest son had tattoed on his arm it was a nick name. You see Jeremiah was killed in Iraq May 2004. It was a Christmas I will never forget.

ReplyDeleteMy most memorable gift is the scrapbook I made for my grandmother. I had taken all her pictures and made a scrapbook about her life and presented it to her on Christmas Eve. I didn't realize it would make her cry!! She loved it and I will always treasure that. It was her last Christmas with us and now I have the scrapbook to remember her by.
love your project. my most memorable gift i was given... hmmm.. maybe the ring my now husband gave me on our second christmas together. he made me dig through a box of random stuff to find it at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteGreat card ! My most memorable gift was when I was 9 and my oldest brother had given me (and another brother) a brand new bike. Funny thing is we both had gotten the same color/type bikes, and it was too cold to go outside to ride but we did it anyway.
ReplyDeleteTHis is nice and simple just the way I like it, its very pretty
ReplyDeleteGreat card, love all the extras you added to it. I really love that paper you used. It is beautiful. As for my most memorable gift, I would saw were the little handmade gifts my kids made when they were little. I still have them.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing you put this one together - I know how special it is...way prettier in person than the picture shows!!
ReplyDeleteMost memorable gift, huh? Well, I would be remiss in not choosing the gift you made for me a couple of years ago. My Sister Album is one of my most cherished gifts...and it came from YOU!! Love ya, Sis!!!!
Lovely card. I need to try flower soft.
ReplyDeleteI love your card! I also love how those markers look like paint when you use them! I have 2- an orange an pink! :)
ReplyDeleteThere was supposed to be an "and" between the 2 colors, lol!
ReplyDeleteVicki -- I love all the different elements used in your card! I know I now NEED some Bazzill Bling! My most memorable gift? It would have to be the year I gave the Hubs a gift certificate to the Richard Petty Driving School that allowed him to race around the NASCAR track in Charlotte, NC. That man (and my son) both had tears in their eyes -- they were SO excited!
ReplyDeleteLove this card! simplicity is the way I like cards, and this is that but very elegant. Very nice job!
ReplyDeleteDar
What a lovely card! LOVE the bling!
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable gift... well, I've gotten lots of great gifts but I have to say that I love my pink afghan blanket that my older sister got me when I was 15 or 16. She saw it at a church bazaar and since my room was all done in pink at the time, she got it for me. I remember being really surprised she had thought of me and gotten it. I must really love it, as I'm 40 now and still have it and still use it every day! It's not so much that it's the best blanket in the world (though it is nice and warm) but that I think of my sister every time I use it. Just makes me smile! :-)
Receiving my Cricut Expression last year for Christmas!! From my HUBBY! I was THRILLED! and a bit SHOCKED!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. Have a GREAT Day,
Me-Ma Kim

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy best gift and most memorable one I received was with a ring of the doorbell. When I opened the door my son was standing there. (He is in the Army and never told me he was coming...it was a surprise.)Best gift I ever got!
Love the Bling.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite gift would have to be my engagement ring. That was 46 years ago.
Love the bling on your card...always love to see the embossed background being used.
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention my most unforgettable gift. I think maybe the year I was 15 and we were VERY poor and my mother gave me a dress I had been coveting that I knew I'd never have and it was for a special school dance.
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful. I love the cards with words instead of pictures. My favorite holiday memory would be an angel I made for my favorite aunt out of feathers. It took me aver a month to make it but even after 20 years she still has her and always sticks her on the tree. I love seeing it year after year when I visit her.
ReplyDeleteCindy

Beautiful card. I really love that glitter paper! My favorite gift was the card I got from my hubby for our second anniversary. He drew it for me. It was a picture of his wedding band and my engagement ring, linked. I'm not sure if that counts as the gift, since we technically went out to dinner together for our anniversary, but I thought it was so sweet that he took the time to create something for me. Especially since he knows how much handmade cards and gifts mean to me.
ReplyDeletecute card!
